Phoebe ate her first "solid" food yesterday (November 13th). I hadn't planned on giving her any solids until 6-8 months, but she was definitively showing signs of hunger, even after she had tapped me out.
After two nights of this and a diminishing supply of breast milk in the freezer (I haven't had time to pump since September - on account of her demanding feed schedule), I surrendered to the Gerber Organic brown rice cereal.
I'm pretty confident that she wore more than she consumed, but if nothing else, it was entertaining to watch her open her mouth in anticipation of the green spoon with the smallest amount of cereal on it.

Skipping Ahead in Time

Phoebe was born July 8, 2008.
We did take photos on that blessed day.
More photos have since been taken.
We have anecdotes about her early days, weeks, etc.
Those shall someday (hopefully) make it to this blog... but today we start with what we have. Skipping ahead, then, is the only way we'll guarantee our commitment to create content.
Forgive us our anachronistic tendencies in the mean time.

Welcome
I have been meaning to construct a family web page for some time. Most of it will undoubtedly pay homage to Phoebe O'Brien, the most wonderful new addition to our family, but there will be occasional (maybe more?) posts about me, Melissa O'Brien and my husband, Joe O'Brien. I presume the title of our web page now makes sense. Read, comment and enjoy the POMOJO Chronicles.
